My cat has been peeing in different places?

My cat is a 11 month old female. Yesterday, she started to dig and pee in the plants. So, we covered the soil on the plants with pebbles so she won't use the plants. Today, she jumped on the couch and started to pee right on it beside us. What is happening? From the day we adopted her she hasn't done this until now.
